Thinking of rescueing a beardie

I was at a pet store last weeked and there was an adult beardie there that the sales girl told me needed a good home desperately. His first owner was moving overseas and brought him in. Then he was sold 3 times and brought back basically because he was an impusle buy or the person's parent threw a fit. He seems so sweet and just looked at me with these sad eyes. He looks very healthy so someone must have taken good care of him. I need to go back in a actually get him out and see what his temperment is and also discuss this with my hubby. What I am wondering is, is it difficult owning 2 beardies? I already have a 9 month old beardie that I got when he was around 2 months old. I love him to pieces!! I just wonder if I would be taking on too much adding another. Thoughts? Opinions? I see that many of you here on the forum have more than one.

Well, it's more work than one, but not really double the work. You can prepare their food at the same time, clean their tanks at the same time, and basically get all the boring stuff done in not much longer that it takes to do it once. The rest depends on the dragons...you might be able to have outside/cuddle/bath time with them both together, or they might want to fight and you'll have to do it separately. My bf's beardies (male and female) were both very territorial in their vivs if they could see the other when the male first arrived, but when they were both out, they just ignored each other and did their own thing, so we could take them in the garden or give them a bath together, and have them both out in the same room with us kinda keeping an eye on them but them mostly just doing their own thing.

If you've got the space and money for another full set-up, and somewhere to put it so they can't see each other and stress each other out, and you're prepared for the fact that they might just ignore each other and make your life easy, or they might hate each other so need everything done separately, then I don't see any harm in rescuing this other guy...you clearly care enough to give him a good home.
