I love responsible breeders like yourself. I work as a dog trainer and I have gotten into many an argument with people who breed for the money and not for the quality and health of the animals they bring into this world. Thats why we spent so much on the five beardies we now have, I wanted to make sure that the ones I got where of good, healthy stock and that also displayed wonderful dispositions.

I work in a pet store myself (I do training, and all-creature pet sitting on the side) and they call me the reptile lady simply because I have put so much effort into learning about the animals we keep. Im VERY strict about selling the reps. No one takes an animal they cant care for. Even if its a goldfish. For me, its not about the money. I want to make sure people are going home with a family member, not another thing to put on a shelf. My beardies aren't the only things I keep in my house that are reptilian. I have an Iguana, Water Dragon, Ball python, Carpet Python and a Red Eared Slider. Lets not get started on the fuzzy kind  haha.

So thanks for sharing the knowledge. I will let you know how my lovelies enjoy the slurry. Im going to use it to help my female gain back some of her weight. I have an 18 egg clutch I need to monitor now <3

AH..... A little validation! I was beginning to think I was the only person using Kaytee Exact for their beardie. I sprinkle a pinch on my baby beardies greens, because it's just packed with greatness. I have only had him 2 weeks and I can't believe how much bigger he is in the short time he's been with us.

Glad to hear everything is going better, Tatty.

I plan to try and have some pictures tonight or tomorrow. I have some exciting news especially about the older babies. How happy am I that they are such good eaters! They are eating salads, Phoenix worms, crickets, mini mealies, and now.........rehydrated repcal juvenile dragon pellets. Its not an accident either. Curiosity and palatability have resulted in some of the dragons aggressively eating the pellets. Other naturally curious dragons approach and start tasting them. I bet about half of my babies are also eating the pellets. I put a few pellets in with the newbies and even they are tongueing tasting them. What a well rounded group of eaters! I am so happy and just had to share. Also, I am starting a great experiment to reduce the cost of feeding adult dragons and other reptiles. I am going to be keeping a journal of attempting to start a superworm culture.

Day one of the culture on March 17. I purchased 50 superworms, allowed my guys to consume half of them, then went to walmart in the craft section and got a divided storage container with little compartments for buttons and a lid. I went home and put one superworm in each compartment with a piece of lettuce, closed the lid and put it in a warm dark place under the couch. Superworms will not pupate in to beetles unless you individualize them. Superworms are agressive enough for moisture that they will eat their comrades if you don't provide raw vegetables or greens for them! I have become tire of purchasing superworms at 10 cents each from the store in bulk and having a portion of them be dead. I also want to cut my feeding costs. I am also planning a mealworm culture also to inform you of and describe the steps. Until tonight.......

Yeah for well fed babies.

Did you poke holes in the tops of the individual sections? They need air. Also, they don't need food. I put some in like that and without food they changed to pupae in about a week.

I tried breeding them too at one point. Didn't have the extra patience for it. Now I order them in bulk. Its 20 bucks for 1000 plus shipping.

Just had to share this. I have about 3 babies I want to gain a little more weight so I was handfeeding them. I had Tatty out and my remote control for TV on floor. Immediately, Tatty flew into a rage, jumped down on the floor, pancaked at and bearded the remote  then headbutted the remote and was disturbed by the remote until I removed it from her view.

If I were the slave of Tatty, I would be more concerned that SHE would eat her babies.

She would eat her babies. I always make sure she can't get at them. Also, the good news! My baby beardies are beginning to also eat repcal baby dragon pellets with gusto in additon to veggies, crickets, phoenix worms, and minimealies. Another news flash! A third clutch is getting close to hatching. I seem to have one egg that is sweating. This clutch from Twizzler has 11 eggs in it. More updates coming!

Lucky! Congrats! I can't wait until my lemon citrus x german giant female Lilly, is ready to breed. Shes a year and 3 months, and shes the right size to breed, but I want to wait until shes at least 2 years. Im breeding her with my red male...Red (haha creative names huh :D), who is 4 yrs old. He will have to wait till he gets to get busy.

My goodness, this is wonderful, but my head is spinning!! How do you keep up with everything? I would love to see a pic of your setup with all your babies, incubator, breeders, etc. Do you still have #22, and can you still tell her/him apart from everyone else?

I LOVE BABIES! :love5: :love10: :love5: :love10: :love5:

I'm going to a reptile expo on April 11, I hope I'm going to refrain from getting another baby..............you do such a great job, thanks for sharing.

:D March 21, 2009. I started my college level GPS class this morning and also went to the TCTFS auction and got some fish food and three bags of African Cichlids. The babies in both clutches are really getting aggressive in eating the moist pellets as part of a staple in addition to their other food. Its fine with me as it helps save money and give them good nutrition. They eat it with gusto and are they ever growing and getting pretty citrus colors. The pet store operators will be so thrilled.
I looked in the incubator and the first baby from clutch #3 is hatching. This is from Nebuchanezzar and Twizzlers first clutch. One egg went bad so I have 10 to hatch altogether. One is out so I have up to 9 others. I don’t know how they will do because they were left at room temp a couple days then transported to me during an ice storm. I will keep everyone posted and hopefully with pictures tomorrow!

Hey Tatty,
I went out of town from Friday evening to Saturday evening and when I came back my rh was in the mid-high 50s. Most of my eggs have a dimple like they're collapsing. Would a cpl hrs of low(er) rh kill them??? Is there anything I can do? I've topped off all the channels and the rh is back to 67%

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
