Tatty would like to welcome all of you to her egg thread. Here she is looking at all of you from atop the incubator that her human slave have purchased for her and POpcorn. This is what the hovabator thermal incubator looks like. It is probably one of the most economical for the money. You can get it for about $35.00. Any good farm supply store should have one. You don't have to order and pay shipping. All Tatty can say is that her human slave has had great luck with it. It holds temperatures and humidity very well if you just follow the instructions. It has plenty of room inside. I have 40 plus eggs and could handle easily at least 40 more. Thankyou for looking. Tomorrow, Tatty will show you what her favorite lay bin looks like.

Bye to all, Tatty :blob5:

Set up an account (which is free) and download your pictures to photobucket. You can find this by googling photobucket. Once you have them there all you have do do is copy the image link and paste it in your thread or reply. If you have trouble, I will be home later tonight after church.

Her real name is Ice, but I just call her fatty mama until she has her babies and I can put her on a diet. The guy we rescued her from fed her nothing but Superworms and pinkies.... UGH! She's started going after crickets and after the babies come, she will go down to all crickets and salad.

Laying is a strenous time for your girls and they need lots of love, pampering, and special treatment between clutches and cycles. They need extra calories for a while. The fat pads on their heads will be sunken due to the calories used to produce the eggs. Supplement your girls with calcium, a multivitamin reptile product, plenty of fresh veggies, crickets, superworms, some waxies, phoenix worms, butterworms, or anything else your girl might enjoy. They also suffer from dehydration after egg production so they might need a good soak. ONe of the things that scares expectant beardie owners most is that their beardie will go "off feed" before they get ready to lay. The reason: the eggs fill up their coelomic cavity so well that they think they are full aka: they don't want to eat. They will be "ravenous" after laying eggs. The picture above is my girl POpcorn taking a nap on the little Romeo Cooper. :)

Thanks you so much for your help Tatty. It's greatly apprieciated. Aruora is finally back to her old self. I have been giving her huge sallads everyday with calcium powder sprinkled on it and she's had two small pinkies this week. I was soo happy to see that she was acting like my Aruora again and gaining wieght. People told me horror stories and scared the poo out of me. She is ever the proud mama! Something strange i did notice was that when Aruora started digging Draco, my male, did too. Is that normal for the daddy's to "help" out? ( they've been in the same tank since we bought them) It was almost as if when she'd stop he'd start. lol Here is a picture of my babies. Though a bad picture that I took with my phone it's a picture all the same. Aroura's yellow and orange isn't as vibrant as it normally is and Draco is about to shed. When I get my new camera's program on to my computer I'll post some really good ones! thanks again!

My two female beardies dug and laid eggs in unison. The male did nothing. They are highly sensitive to each others cues.

Popcorn resting with Mittens after laying eggs. Beardies are most productive between the ages of two to five.

How long until we can candle the eggs to check for development? Anything we need to be especially cautious of? What's the proper way to do it without causing damage to the egg? How long can they be out of the incubator safely?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
