Well..

Another baby lost..

Sadly Flapjack didn't make it.. The breeder thinks he might have had a weak immune system.. He was less alert these past few days so I knew something was up.. I emailed the breeder this morning, asking for advice, and describing my set up and his behavior.. Sadly when I went to offer him some dinner... He was gone. I cried for about 2 hours.. I miss him .. The breeder has offered to give me an older female.. And I believe I'm gonna go ahead and take her.. Apparently she's a cuddlebug and I really need that right about now.. I feel horrible about just getting a new one, like Flapjack didn't mean anything, but trust me, he did.. I loved him, even though he was only with me for a short time. I just can't believe he's gone.. Poor sweetie..

So, I guess this is the end of this thread... Rest in peace, Flappy.. I love you..

Well, atleast he was loved by you, because we all know you are a super beardie mom... and you've done everything you could have. If you get this older female, I'm sure she will be happy with you. Much love. xo

I'm soo sorry. I have lost beardies and it always hurts as much as the one before. We've lost 4 since August 06. I agree with you, get the older female cuddle bug. The cuddle bugs are soo wonderful. They comfort you when you are upset. Miss O was the best one that we've ever had that way. Redrock was next best. They both knew when we were upset and cuddled to comfort. Rosie's still learning.

Thanks guys. I can't believe it happened. I was like, physically sick the day after..

I got the female from the breeder today. She's 4 months old, and chubby as can be. She ate salad.. o-o... I've never seen a beardie eat salad before. It was cool.

As much as I love her already, the circumstances seem wrong, if that makes any sense.

I mean, really, I just wish I had Gizmo.. But I'm sure, if she makes it, I'm going to love this little girl just as much as I loved Gizmo. I wish I could've had more time with Flapjack, and I can't help but feel responsible for his death, no matter how many times I get told it wasn't my fault. I really hope this little girl will be able to spend a happy, healthy 10 years with me. I'll make a thread sometime, after I feel she's fully settled in.

Her name is Flower, by the way.
