Thank you so much! I'm going to talk to him and beg him to buy me the things you mentioned. For the ceramic heat emitter...does that only need to be used at night? Would I keep all the lightse on and just add the heat emitter or would I turn something else off?
The heat emitter doesn't put out light. It screws into one of the fluker/clamp lamp or other CERAMIC dome lamps WITHOUT the dimmer.
Get like a 60 watt with a dome lamp specifically for it with just the on/off NOT the dimmer. You can use it just at night and turn off the heat lamp. Or you can use it during the day to supplement your basking bulb. It depends on how cold your house/ room where the dragon is.
If you house is 50 degrees F, then you may need the heat emitter and basking bulb. Or if your house stays at 70 deg F then justa basking bulb is great. If your house gets below 65 Deg F at night then set the heat emitter.
Without the indoor/outdoor thermometer probe you can't effectively measure temps. Those stick ons are inaccurate by 20 degrees sometimes.
Give me your tank demensions including height and the watt basking light, I might be able to estimate what you need. I keep my house at 70 deg to 65 in the winter, I only set the heat emitter on cold nights and put it on and turn basking off at bedtimes. My Beardie tanks at 15 inches tall and I use 75 watt basking bulbs with a dimmer switch so I can get the basking temps at 100 to 102. My tanks are 48 inches long so cool side is 70 to 75 degrees.
If you cry and beg like all good kids your dad will relent. I know this because I was one of those kids. You need what you need and you have to take care of your precious pet
Hehehehe, can you tell, I have lots of neighbor kids who love to come to my house!!
