Tatsu Is Dying ...

I am sorry to have to let everyone know this because he has brought me and so many others so many joy through his stories and his army posts and antics, but Tatsu is dying. He was diagnosed with incurable leukemia today after a two day battle with a small colon prolapse that we thought was curable, but didn't know why it had happened. His vet thought he might be around another few weeks, but he is suffering and has declined tonight since I got off the phone with her. It breaks my heart to type this and I wish I could run away and not say this because it makes it even more true and it hurts so much, but I think I have to take him in to the vet tomorrow and say goodbye.

Looks like a new general will have to be elected to carry on in Tatsu's name, but he loves each and every one of his army members and friends and is glad to have helped so many people along his journey.

I promise to post more when I know for sure what is going on, but it might be hard, so bear with me, if I don't post an update right away.

Nora, I'm sorry. I know how much it hurts, we've lost way to many beardies ourselves. You have many years of memories of him, cling to those they will make you laugh in time.

Thank you everyone. I am in shock, still. He left me today and his tank is empty. It's hard, but knowing others are thinking of me helps. I got to be there to hold him while they gave him the sedative before they took him for the second shot. He looked at me the whole time before he drifted off to sleep and snuggled on my shoulder the way he always did. I know he knew I loved him and that I was helping him, but that doesn't make me feel any better.
