Tales of Thresh and Fizz *Update*

Hi everyone!

So Deb was amazing today and came over and helped me pick out the new baby for the family. Except he isn't so much of a baby. And he may also may not be a he. :lol: He's from the same clutch as Baron was from, so his birthday is March 10th! And holy moly what a healthy juvie.

Even though he is a bit small at 12 inches, he can eat. Let me tell you, he can eat. Deb got pictures of him eating when I first gave him food 5 minutes after him being in the tank. 2 bowls of roaches later and a bowl and a half of baby bok choi and he seemed content. SO. PICTURES. I only got 3 before my camera died.

The last two are kind of crappy...But the camera was making angry red flashes at me and I was trying to get some.

Glad your heat has been fixed! It's getting WAY cold here and I have to say I don't like it. We just moved, so I'm excited I actually have a landlord to call if something happens to the heat here. But, I have to remember that I have tenants who will call ME if something goes wrong. Lol

The heating in this house is very lopsided. The thermostat says 70, but half the house is 72 and the other is 68. Glad I have Zilla on the warm side! No CHE at night yet.

I'm glad to hear everything is going well and that he finally fixed the heater for you. I thought you were supposed to give good customer service to get more people and make more money, but I guess I am wrong?

I agree. Yikes.

So I had today off with Brandon. We ran down to a store called Play'N'Trade, it's a game store franchise. Brandon traded in a bunch of his old games he didn't want and got a bunch of money. We stopped by Pet Boutique before heading home and we ended up getting this little guy.

He is a pastel, Poss. Het. Clown male ball python. I fell in love when I saw him. We got everything we needed(they don't need much. He's in a plastic tub with secure lid, heat pad, hide, and water bowl.) and with the money we got from the trades we didn't spend much.

He doesn't have a name yet, Brandon wants to name him.

But yes! So when he's named I'll modify the title with it and let everyone know.

As for Thresh, she's doing very well. Eating lots of Roaches and greens. Never when I'm around though. I caught her eating them when I opened the door and she stopped mid chew to have a stare off until she figured she wasn't going to win and swallowed the rest. :lol:

Brandon finally named him. His name is Draxel, or Drax for short. When he's settled in more and I can take a few really good pictures I'll add him to my signature.

Ok, I saw the title and couldn't resist! He is adorable! Now, I'm not brave enough for snakes. Buuuuut.... This one is an exception!

The reason I decided a Ball Python is because they are adorable, and they're pretty 'lazy'. They will explore, don't get me wrong, but they aren't as flighty as Corn snakes or a few of the other 'starter' snakes.

I keep meaning to do a big Thresh update and keep forgetting or just running out of time. I will try and do one Saturday after Deb has come over.

I'm looking forward to Saturday afternoon, do you want me to bring Gabriel along? Rubio is brumating, so he's out of it. I did get him up today as he's to the vet in the am.

Ok, if he gets rambunctious I'll just put him back in the gym bag! No I'll just hold onto him. He's never seen a female dragon so this should be a lot of fun. He'd better behave himself!

We'll see if he's a gentleman like Rubio! Thresh weighs 400 grams now(or over). She's big!

Wow, that's a big gain, good for her, she's going to be a big girl before she's done growing. It's going to be fun to see how Gabriel reacts to her

I'm really proud. I need to weigh her in a bowl. I did it on a plate and she was really unhappy. We can weigh Gabriel too, if you like. I had to get a scale for Draxel(what you feed them depends on their weight), so it was a win win. It was only 15 dollars at walmart too!

I have to get a new scale, I have a great kitchen scale with a bowl and it was guaranteed for 15 years but the electronics gave out after 2 years. I never did keep the receipt and it's not made anymore. But it worked well for over 2 years, so I'll check what you have & I'll see if I can find the same one at the Walmart, too, as $15 is something I can afford.
