there are some in petco iv seen them and i dont use sand
and i cant get him to eat by him self have to hand feed him
should i leave the uvb light off
'

Turn the blub off, he will be okay for a few days with out it, if you get to worried take him out side (granted its warm enough) And let him get 30 min or more of real sunlight.

The blub might be causing him not wanting to eat

I also think the light is the problem, you should only use the long tube type. Unfortunately, a lot of reptile products are not suitable or are even downright dangerous for out pets. Calci sand/repti sand is a good example, many baby dragons die every year from sand impaction yet the companies insist its safe. Its the same way with UVB light. Most either are unsafe or don't produce the light needed. Retisun 10 are the only safe bulbs available in the US. They are rarely sold at stores any more, most of us order them online. http://www.petmountain.com/product/fluorescent-bulbs/11442-504983/zoo-med-reptisun-10-0-uvb-bulb.html
thank you for this web sight

I would wait to turn the new light on until he is keeping his eyes open. Bad UVB causes retina burn and it can be quite painful, like a sunburn on your eye balls. Leaving the light off will help him heal faster.
Keep using the stuff the vet gave you too, it will help.

no hood right now would be okay, still some UBV but not intense to allow his eyes to continue to heal. Give it until he is opening them then use the hood. He needs the UBV and the hood will keep it bouncing into the cage all of it :)

It is amazing how many of us spend so much money on bad advice from the store experts. It is also amazing how this bad advice continues and the pet suffers. Glad he is on the mend and on the right track! good luck ;)

Give him time to heal and he will take off like a rocket- babies usually do :)

Give him a good soak too, in a bowl if you want not deep keep him hydrated. The warm water can help stimulate his belly wanting food too.

Very few dragon will actually drink from a dish, they really are kinda worthless to have in the cage. Soak him daily so he can drink if he wants.

What kind of basking bulb are you using? You don't need or want two sources of UVB. In the future, you can use a regular household bulb instead of the expensive reptile bulbs. You don't need a special hood for your reptisun either, any hood will do. One of mine is on a old aquarium hood and it works just fine.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
