Take beardie on short trip, or not?

I have read many threads on this site about folks camping/traveling with beardies. I'm planning a three-day, two-night trip that will involve staying in a rented house and walking/mild hiking around Lake Superior in northern MN. I would love to take my 16-month old beardie on the trip as he loves to ride in the car and ride on my shoulder on long walks outdoors; he enjoys stimulus and does not seem stressed by it and has even done well riding on my shoulder during street fairs.

The question is whether it would be harmful to him to bring him on this trip. I have a friend who can check in on him and feed him while I'm gone--but he is very active and social and I don't like to think of him stuck alone in his cage for three days. He is usually roaming the house, going on walks, and getting attention constantly since I work from home. On the other hand, I don't want to expose him to unnecessary stress. Seeking input from others regarding whether a short trip would be stimulating and enjoyable for a beardie, or stressful.

I just took mine camping, and he loved it. However, it's easy for me to take him anywhere in So Cal, especially during the Summer. I admit I'm ignorant to MN weather at this point in the year. As long as it isn't going to be too cold for him, I don't see why you can't have a partner in crime. Make sure you keep an eye out, animals usually have the uncontrollable urge to reintroduce themselves into the wild.

Both of my boys enjoyed car rides so that was no problem. I have a 20g long travel tank that I use and have a basking light on an adjustable lamp stand. I bring an 18'' T8 UVB in case there isn't much outside time but it's not really necessary for short trips. A big rubbermaid tote bin will work well for temporary housing too. I had Dundee up at Leech Lake in northern MN last fall and he enjoyed it to the extent that he could. I like bringing dragons along on trips if it's practical. If he likes car rides, then it probably won't stress him out too much but they're all a little different so give it a try and see how he does.
