Tail rot? Or just dark coloring?

Here is photo of my 4 month old bearded dragon. I’ve had him for about 2 months and when I got him his tail was dark, I researched it and it’s still dark, not more dark than where I got him, not less dark, it’s not shriveled or weird shaped, just plain dark.

That's just a darkened tail. It looks a little waxy too so the tail may be getting ready for a shed. I don't see anything to worry about based on that photo. No damage, shriveling, or open wound.

Ok thanks, he didn’t finish shedding the tip of his tail last time, and now we are going into another foot/tail/head shed
