surgery to remove home after radiation treatment

Hello Lynn,

How did Neato do today? I have been thinking about you all day long! I hope you are already on your way home now, after a successful treatment today.

Neato wasn't released until 5 pm and we didn't arrive home until 9:30 pm. We were at the hospital from 830-5. It was a very long, stressful day.

The good news is Neato did great. They removed the thing on his tongue to be safe but don't feel it looked like cancer. Results will not be back until next week.

They did the radiation treatment and he will not need a follow up treatment. We will have to watch him for normal radiation side effects which is scary and I will take him to my vet for follow up.

Neato is awake this morning and took his meds. He actually took a few steps but refused to eat. It is early in the morning so I'll try to feed his at lunch. He is much more alert than last time he was anesthetized so I'm very happy with that.

I don't feel comfortable leaving him alone all day. So I will be taking him to work today. We dropped off his travel tank last night.

Thank you so much for all you thoughts, prayers and good wishes. You will never know how much that helped me. I'll keep you updated on his progress.

Oh I am so happy that you both are home and happy with the way Neato is! Glad you are taking him to work, I would be doing that too!

So glad to hear that you are home safely and that Neato did so well. So glad you can take him to work with you. I think my colleagues would freak out if I had the girlz in my office with me I look forward to hearing more good news;thoughts and prayers are with y'all.

Yessss!!! I'm glad surgery went well and that Neato is feeling better now, by the way, I love his name. I've been thinking about him, so it's awesome that he's home on the road to recovery.

Neato has been alert today and ate pretty good while we are home for lunch. The other librarians all keep going back to check on him. It's so funny when I catch them talking to him. None of them are reptile people but they all know how much he means to me. One of the ladies didn't know he was there and it did startle her pretty good when she went to the break room. lol

Thanks for your continued concern and good thoughts for Neato's recovery. He such a little fighter.

University of Tennessee called today and the biopsy of the thing removed from Neato's tongue came back non cancer. Whoo hoo That is such great news for us. Plus so far Neato has not had any side effects from his radiation treatment he had last Tuesday. He is back to normal and is eating pretty good for him. This is the best Christmas gift I could receive.
