Well Syth seems to be be a little better today, swelling in his eyes has gone down quite a bit. Still off his food but showing interest now in things going on around him some. Hopefullly we have turned a corned

aww poor guy you can really tell his eyes are swollen. im glad to hear he was more active today. have you tried baby food? it might be better for his tummy right now while hes healing

atleast it looks like he's got some mass to him so hopefully the not wanting to eat (or can he not be allowed too?) wont have much impact.

I feel so bad for him, he's just not his normal, head-bobb'in eyes bright self.. I'm probably hoping for too much too early. Its just hard to see him go through this. Every morning, first thing I do when I wake is immediatly check on him the make sure he's made it through the night. Today he's on his flat rock right under the heat lamp, not basking like "normal" but his head is up this time and he's looking semi-content. No real change on his wound but if its not filling with sebum anymore that should be a good thing right? We picked up some baby food for him today (thanks Tastiger) and we'll see if we can get him to lick it off his nose, if not, we'll have to syringe it to him. Any idea how much I should give him in CC's? He's a large boy, normally around 6-7 hundred grams @ 22inches long. He's only 400 grams now.

I feel so sad for your baby. you and him are in my thoughts are prayers. I hope everything goes super well and he heals just fine. When I had to give baby food I would put a glob on my finger and my sick beardie would lick it right off. He loved the butternut squash flavor.

Well if it's been a considerable amount of time since he's eaten, you probably want to do a little at a time and more often, since any animal (even a person) who's experienced starvation for whatever reason can get sick if a full meal is consumed suddenly.

aww poor baby ill be keeping tabs on this forum checjing in to make sure hes ok i still wonder if they removed the 'third eye" organ as part of the mass. That will effect him alot after he heals

Well I tried the turkey and veggie baby food last night with him, he didn't take it off his nose so I syringed him some and he took it quite well so at least he's getting something into him. Looking much the same today, sure looking forward to him being his old self again.

Hopefully we've turned a corner today, yay!! He actually HEAD BOBBED in his enclosure today! Was sooo happy to see that! He's taking the baby food quite well and drinking from a small dish but only while I'm pouring bottled water in....lol. Here' some pics of him from last night :love5:

yay im so happy hes taking food for you and i think it looks like its starting to heal his eyes dont look as swollen
