I have read so much on this matter and its time to get it over with. Alot of people say superworms arent that good of a staple, and others say that it is a pretty decent staple. What is the answer here? If i could go with superworms on more of an average basis rather than crix it would be much better for me. I Cant actually keep them unlike crickets i cant stand the smell of the freakin things.

From my understanding, Supers are an OK staple feeder if your dragon is big enough
to handle them safely.

They certainly aren't the best or even close to the best feeder, so if you don't want
to use them you don't have to.

[Unless I'm reading your post wrong and DO want to use them..from the way I read it
it sounds like you DON'T want to..and you don't have to]

Properly dusted and gutloaded crickets are perfectly acceptable as the primary (or only)
feeder. Dubias and other troprical roaches (dusted and gutloaded) are also fine as a primary
(or only) feeder. Any of the worms should be considered part of a variety of feeders
(ie fine to use if you keep things mixed up, but not as an only feeder)
as none of them can be properly gutloaded, imo at least.

I DO want to use them as a staple. I won't have to go buy crickets every 2 days . I used to keep them but they die and smell. So if I was to feed super let's say 4 days outa the week and the others gutloaded crix is be fine? Superstitious are easier to keep in the house in larger less dying all the time quantities. Sorry for any puncuation errors my phone doesn't seem to handle this site well and I can't go back and fix typos easily.

Ahh, OK.

Yes, so long as your dragon is big enough (16+ inches nose to tail),
you can feed Superworms as a staple item.

Don't feed supers as the only item, but a mix of Supers, Crickets,
Dubia or other tropical roaches, Phoenix Worms, Wax Worms,
Butter Worms, Silk Worms, is great.

If you can only do Supers and Crickets (about 50/50), that'll be OK too.

Im pretty sure the 16+" rule is more for mealworms because of there chittin. If a super worm is small enough for your beardy there shouldnt be any problem feeding them to him. As others have stated though mix it up abit.

No it's for Superworms.

You shouldn't really EVER feed mealworms.
They are hard to digest and have little to no actual nutrition,
being mostly shell.

You only feed Supers to larger dragons due to the
kink in thier digestive tract. Or at least that's
what I've been told in the past by other folks on
these forums.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
