Superworms?

Okay, just a quick post- I in the past have fed my beardie Mealworms, only to find that I shouldn't. I was just wondering if the same applies for Superworms?

Superworms are fine as long as your beardie is 16 inches. The chitin is not as thick as it is on mealworms.

And what exactly makes them unfitting for smaller beardies?

I have been told that there is a kink in their digestive track that straightens out when they are approx 16 inches.
It's just because of the size of the superworms.

Exactly! Superworms + kink = dangerous
Supers are okay as a staple feeder if your beardie is large enough though

I love the superworms. They seem to live forever, dont stink, my girl loves them....It's a beautiful thing :wink:

Oh well, the thing was, and the reason I asked, was because I found a supplier of very small super worms, small enough for my beardie (or at the latest, in a few weeks will be), and I just wanted to make sure it wasn't because of chitin-caused impaction.

I feed him Superworms as a staple, and crickets when they are small still, but large enough (I'm trying to breed crickets right now), and they also seem to never die xD
