Superworms

Why are superworms only recommended for dragons longer than 16"? I can understand the risk of impaction if you're feeding, say, a 6month old dragon a full grown (2"+) super, but why is this the rule for all supers? I currently feed my 5.5 month old chameleon "baby" superworms, which are about 1/2" and very skinny. I'm not sure why those would be considered unsafe also (or is the "rule" just going for larger superworms, just no one ever specifies? :p)

If by "baby" superworms you mean meal worms, then you shouldn't be feeding meal worms to beardies at all. They have poor nutritional value and have a hard outer chitin shell which is hard to digest.
