Is there any way to determine if a worm is a super or a mealie? I got a batch of worms yesterday but they seem darker than the supers I already have but they are about 1/2 the size too. So I am not able to size comparison the colors.

Superworms tend to have dark heads/butts , while mealworms tend to be uniform in color, and lighter pigment overall as well. Superworms exoskeletons are less hard as well, and they are also much more active.

Those are both supers. It would seem odd to me for somebody to package mealworms and superworms together.

so I should be safe in saying the smaller one is a super as well? I just don't want to give it and it cause problems. I got an order of 250 (usually lasts 2-3 months)

You don't have to worry about it being a mealworm, but superworms should only be fed occasionally as they are really high in phosphorous. If you are using it as a staple, you would want to replace them with either crickets, dubia, black soldier fly larvae or silkworms.

That's why they last so long for me. Her staple is crickets but once a week I let her have supers as a treat. She doesn't seem to care for wax worms and she scared of dubia. Literally will run the opposite direction.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
