Hi Fellow Canadians: I live in New Westminster, BC, close to Vancouver.
Supers are my staples. I have 5 adult beardies, Lonzo is 8, Sweetie is 5, Didi is 5, Leo is 4 and Rubio is 3. They all eat supers, Didi however every once in awhile notices the cricket keeper for crickets for my gecko & now he just wants crickets! So I have large & medium crickets for both & supers for the rest. I put my supers in wheat bran, as that's what the pet shop uses & they are all good & healthy. I feed them the greens the dragons eat, plus carrot pieces. I have to make sure all their food is dry, or it causes the bran to get moist. I'm not sure if I'm feeding them too often (nightly) but they sure do grow fat when I do that.
I only have access to crickets & supers, & supers are easier to take care of even though I love the noise crickets make, reminds me of back east. No crickets in the Lower Mainland, so I've missed that noise. I moved here from Montreal in 1987 with my son Eric. He's now 27, so time sure does go fast. Sorry off topid
Supers put good weight on beardies quickly. I've been letting my crew eat whatever amount they want to be good & fat for brumation, which should be coming along any day now. So I do prefer them. I'm hoping to find hornworms & would love to have some dubia.
