Repticarpet is a good choice for substrate. It is solid and cannot be ingested. Although I have read that there is the chance that beardie nails can get stuck in the fibres of the carpet and get stuck. Have you considered textured tile for substrate? It is what most people on here use, as it has many benefits. Easy to clean, no impaction risk, keeps beardie's nails trim and it also looks nice.

I recomend Terrarium Liner, it cant be digested, easy to clean, and reduces oder. I got it for Komez and I love it! It will make the cage clean and neat unlike other sand-type substrate. You can find it at PETCO or PETSMART.

Tile its the best easy to clean , no danger of injestion or illness of any kind just don't grout or use any adhesive of any kind so the tiles can be removed for cleaning and you'll never have to change your substrate.

Okay but Sand is acceptable for for Adult Dragons, so can I simply use Washed Playsand or is there something that's better? I know most of you prefer tile but to me sand belongs with the dragon and I am willing to clean it out/throw out sand quite frequently.

Do not use play-sand! it causes impactions, has no vitimin suppluments, and is not even for Beardies! I'v heard alot of good reviews for tile. Go with that or Terrarium Liner

I am doing cages today and have finally ran out of my crappy substrate that has been causing me worries. Due to the fact that it is minus 40 here I can't go out today and buy tiling. Is there something I can use as a substrate till it warms up a little for the next few days?

So, when they make their mess do you just replace all the paper towel or that section? Do you need to sanitize the cage after pickin it out

how do you do a quick sanitize? once a month I tear everything down and use a little bleach and a lot of water and let it all soak and rinse and then a little bleach with running water and scrub....does that have to be done daily with paper towel or can you cheat with some mr. clean or something like that...vinegar??

I pull the tile in question out take it out side hose it off then use clorox wipes onit then let it dry and replace it. Every time he takes a dump on it witch is fine with me cause he only dose it on one when he dose it

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
