Stuck Shed on Toe Turned Black

Hi everyone. Here is my beardies toe after getting stuck shed off and I have a few concerns I was hoping I could get advice on. I haven't found a lot of info on stuck shed on toes but have on tail rot which can both be caused by the same things. Firstly, his toe looks way worse than photos I've seen because they all had the shed still on. Was I wrong to take the shed off? I ask this because if that allows blood flow then possibly he could get sick from the dead cells faster. Also, I was wondering if it will fall off on its own? I have a vet appointment in 6 days (trying to get in somewhere sooner). I have pondered on getting it clipped off at home since we have ointment and pain reliever from a vet appointment previously because I'm concerned he can get very ill with it staying on for over a week. And finally, is it truly reversible like tail rot? I know by the looks of it here it's not but I just have hope I caught it in time and made the right decisions to take off the stuck shed. Thanks for any help! And please keep a special eye on your beardies and use shed aid on their toes every shed because you might start a job 1.5 hrs away and have the worst happen to you :( learn from my mistakes because I am usually so attentive of my little bud and I feel horrible every day over this

Please get some raw unpasteurized honey on it - it look like it's infected and yes the infection will get worse- the honey will stop the infection from getting worse- please no crickets in the tank they will go for the toe- I am flagging to @AHBD

Hi, there has not been crickets in his tank since before I found this. Also we have inhibit ointment and betadine for soaks which I imagine has the same effects as honey. Thanks for the help, what should I look for to know if the infection is getting worse/spreading?

It will start moving into the foot- you don't want it in his blood stream and I do recommend the honey it will kill the infection faster than anything

Hello,

That is definitely necrotic there. It will most likely dry up & fall off, but, at the moment it definitely needs
to be monitored to make sure it doesn't get worse & spread infection.
The betadine is fine to use to keep it clean. The inhibit ointment, do you know the ingredients, by chance?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
