Hi, our beardie Brick Top is a 1 year old male, we've had him for 5 months now. His viv is located in the living room, facing the French doors to the back garden (not close, but across the room) and his viv is currently on the floor. Plans are, one the spare room gets sorted in to a reptile room is to move him up there.
He has always been a keen eater, eating greens, roaches, crickets and sometimes silk worms no problems. In fact, he went crazy for roaches until a few weeks ago. His urate had pink in it after not going for a few days (normally a daily pooer) and when he did go it was huge, with a fair amount of liquid so I collected it and made a vet app later that day. It wasn't the vet I normally see and he said the urate was normal (and even started to explain to us what urate was before I stopped him) didn't offer to check him for parasites which we wanted to pay for before he threw the poo in the bin and ushered us out. We were in there 5 mins. Annoyed, we collected samples and sent it to PALs for the full parasitolgy. I'll post the results at the bottom but it showed he had coccidia and another parasite.
I've been steam cleaning his viv daily since but he has now stopped eating which I am very confident is stress induced as we currently have landscapers working on the garden, which has involved in brick work and taking up the old paving, which has meant a lot of noise and bangs. We've been keeping the curtains closed but it's still noisy.
I have been giving him liquid calcium which he seems to enjoy (licks it off his nose) as well as reptoboost and critical care. He is still very lively and not hiding when the landscapers are not working on the garden. He always wants to come out and I just open the tank door and he runs around the living room (which we lizard proofed) to his little hearts content. He has had a poo since he stopped eating, it wasn't much of one as you can imagine. I've been giving him greens every day but I haven't seen him eat anything. He has lost some weight in this time, he was about 420g, now he is about 395g.
The hot aide is about 100f, cool about 85f. Reptisun 10% but no reflector. It is 5 months old and want to replace it with a 12% or 14% arcadia (we bought the viv from the reptile shop where they set it all up for you) the viv is just less then 4ft, and I have ordered a 5x2x2 viv which should arrive in the next week or so, but I don't want to move him there until he is less stressed.
I will try and get him another appointment, hopefully for today, but thought I should ask here as well, i will definitly be asking for our previous vet, not the one we saw last who just wanted us to leave! Should I try baby food? I have silk worms ordered to arrive on Saturday to see if I can get him to eat those
