Squash raw or cooked?

I found some butternut summer and acorn squash I'm just curious if I need to cook squash beforehand. I know I have tried butternut raw but had no takes but my Amber is eating greens so I figured why not try. I just have no experience with squash as a whole so I wanna make it as appetizing as possible

Raw and I would shred it -- I feed zucchini and yellow and I cut it up like tic tac toe and put on top of the salads -- I feed raw shredded sweet potato as well --

Shredded like pealing skin from potatoes or like shredded lettuce/greens?

Both-- I peel the skin w/ a potato peeler and use a hand cheese shredder

I have done both as well the cheese grader I used wasn't exactly too effective ithe squash clogged it quick
