Spinach and baked mealworms

I was going to get one in September when the show came here , but I saw a add on CL for 2 bearded needing a home. Well to find out that he has only been feeding them Spinach and baked mealworms. I know this is not good. What kind of problems should I need to be on the look out for.

I can only take one not both.

Well according to http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html spinach is questionable. My bigger question is how the hell do you make a spinach and mealworm soufflé? Depends how old they are. General, i'd say get em on a varied diet with vitamins and the right heat and uvb and go from there. I mean if they look ok, are fairly active and eat well, then they are prolly ok. Husbandry has a lot to be desired. That's a lot of poop laying around and is that a piece of chewed bubblegum stuck to the back of the cage? :lol:

Oh nm I read the add. 8 inches and 5 inches. So he prolly hasn't been feeding em that for very long. Like I said above, get em a good varied diet of crickets, phoenix worms/reptiworms, dubias and try and get em to eat other veggies. Mine LOVES dandelion greens and used to love mustard greens till she tried dandelion greens. That link has a good list of stuff to try. And get em on some Rep-Cal calcium with D3 5 times a week and Rep-Cal Herptivite 2 times a week and they should be ok or should at least recover as long as they are eating on their own.

I am worried about MVB. I am hopping I can get him Tuesday. I still have to get lights and heat for him. I have ran unto other problem. I cant order my UVB until Tuesday, but it has been in the 100 out side with nice sun shine. Could I bring him out for a hour a day until the UVB gets here.

Yes, an hour a day would be fine. Just don't put him in a glass tank. It's like being in a hot car with the windows up. Make sure he ca n get in the shade if he wants.

Wow, what horrible leaving conditions these 2 Dragons are in......glad you at least get to take one home. What kind of UVB was the previous owner using? Look out for any type of twitching or spazzing. That of course would be a sign of MBD.

im nor sure but he did say that he was using one, and has not had them for long they where a impulse buy. Im hopping to get to them before to much more damage. So much for my letherback LOL

Beardies are an addiction. This little one will be a gateway beardie for you to more!! :lol: Next you'll get a leatherback, then a silkback, then on to the big ones! Witblits!!.....I wish I could afford one of those but if I bought one, the household would hang me.

I got her today!!! She is very pretty. I will post photos but I don't know when. my son broke my lad top changer. She has a nail nip about 4 inc or so nice. Right now she is in a plain cage with a long and paper towel. LOL

Paper towels as substrate work great. That's all I use. Cheap and easy to clean. Can't beat that.
