DIO is being taken care of, but my mother just brought up a good point- if Speedwagon swallowed the claw, how dangerous will it be for her?

Hi there.....it's pretty alarming when these things happen, but neither dragon should have any problem. Dragons eat bugs with jagged legs and have no trouble so it will not be any problem at all. And beardies get toes bitten off fairly often , esp. babies in groups, so as long as you keep it clean it will heal up just fine . A dab of Neosporin or unpasteurized honey if you want to put anything on it, but it shouldn't be a problem at all.

You'd be amazed at what an adult dragon can eat + pass through....a couple of years ago a poster's dragon ate their baby iguana and posted a pic after it came out.

Thanks for the reply- I'll be leaving for the vet soon. She says she will examine and give us an antibiotic. I'm also going to get DIO a new carpet so we know it will be clean.

I still feel terrible for letting this happen. DIO is the light of my life, and I feel like i've absolutely failed her.

You're not a failed owner ! Beardies have these little traumas in their lives + don't bat an eye. There are lots of dragons missing a toe or 2 and it doesn't affect them in the least. But keep in mind now that some beardies don't play nice....it can be a gamble to have them out together.

Hello,

Poor thing, I am sure that hurt! She will be fine though, just keep it clean so it doesn't get infected.
Are they housed together or were they out just playing & running around?

They were out of their tanks. Speedwagon recognizes the cups we bring superworms home in, there was one nearby so I think she saw DIO's toes and thought "OOH! NOM NOMS!"

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
