So, my fiance hasn't noticed the new dragon...

We've had one of the vivs empty for about five months now, since Jam passed away - and today, a new rescue occupant arrived to occupy the available "room to rent" on the ground floor of the dragon towers.

He's about a year old, a good weight and size, and he's my first "stumpie" - he's got at least a third of his tail missing. It's an old wound, completely and neatly healed. He's well socialised, very intelligent, and frankly, a right sweetie! Makes a nice change for a rescue

But yes, bless him, I'm pretty sure Rich hasn't noticed that the new guy has moved in. I'm not going to say anything - I'm just going to see how long it takes... LOL!

He came with the name "Drake", apparently after the dragon from Dragonheart (who's actually called "Draco", but never mind!) - I'm thinking Sean might fit him better. We'll see.

I like Drake, or Stubs even. Whatever you name him, I'm sure that this dragon has no idea as to the good fortune that has befallen him, having landed in the lap of luxury at the Dragonkeepers estate. And it is rather a hoot that he has thus far gone undetected in the castle. :lol:

Anyway, he sounds like a real nice dragon and I'm sure that his personality will blossom under your care.

Day two has passed. I suspect Rich might have noticed by now, but he's not said anything. Mind you, this is the same man whom I can wrap Christmas presents directly in front of, and he'd still be delighted and astonished upon receiving gifts that he can't NOT have noticed...

I still haven't said anything.

He's not eaten his locusts, but he did have a few morios yesterday. Poor wee man's a bit grumpy - I think the change of location has hit him.

All the other dragons have come and had a good look at him, and he's responded with enthusiasm towards them.

"Spock" is a possibility as the StarTrek Plus crew have suggested, as a result of this image:

I'm also considering "Sean", but I've not had the chance to ask. He's currently dozing/watching TV in the neck of my shirt.

You could also give him a super long name like "Cornelius Albert-Arthur Humberdash"

All of my gang have multiple names (with the exception of Hyphen) - I have to say, I'm liking "Humberdash". something something Obelus Humberdash...

Rich still hasn't noticed. He's sat practically opposite the tanks, doing paperwork, with Tsam knocking on newboy's tank and newboy knocking back at him!

Heheh, turns out he noticed on the first day, but as I didn't mention it, neither did he.
It's what we call an "eggs benedict" moment, in our house. He recognised I was enjoying it, and therefore didn't want to burst my bubble, as it were. (He made eggs benedict for me, and I was seriously impressed - it's a pain in the ass to make. He MUCH later confessed the sauce was out of a packet, but I was so pleased...)

See, that's the trouble with someone who's actually a genius. He insists he's not smarter than me, but I know for a fact he is. (He's somewhere around 150, and I'm in the 130s, IQ point wise.)

I did challenge him on the Christmas thing - apparently THAT'S genuine. He's found his birthday presents, but I'd already wrapped them - phew!

Anyway, we still don't know what to call him. "Nimoy" has taken a front runner, so we just need a secondary middle name. Nimoy-something-Obelus-Humberdash.

Well, five days and probably hundreds of names, and the new boy has chosen "Robert".

As a result, so far we have Dread-pirate Robert (something) Humberdash.

His old owner reckons he's about a year old - but he's really big for a yearling if that's so...
But yes, he's got the hang of the model's catwalk pose, hasn't he!
