Snugglies? Mine isnt :(

I'm not sure if it's just my beardie, but he doesn't seem as affectionate.

He doesn't like being held, unless it's dark (he'll fall asleep on my chest), but only if it's dark.
I can't picture him snuggling cloth at all, since whenever he's out he's CONSTANTLY moving.
(on that point, I'm afraid to leave him out because he will always eventually go under something and fall asleep (i.e. under the bed).)

When he's in the cage, he's alert but generally doesn't move.

Now I realize this could be a number of things (like his small cage), but I just don't think that would be the entire case! Would his feeding effect the 'snuggly' gauge in him?

I want help..please?

Spot has a 55 gallon tank and does the same thing. She's squirm and wiggle until you let her down to run. but once it gets around 9pm she gets snuggly.. but mostly only to go to sleep.

how old is your baby? my two monsters were the same way till they got a bit older now as long as i'm warmer than they are, they'll spend a good amount of time just relaxing on me and watching tv, but i also don't take them out until after 9pm usually, cuz my significant other doesn't like them.

he's almost 2 years old. so perhaps i just don't have an 'attached' dragon?

that would make me sad...

I'm sure he'll become attached. Spot wanted nothing to do with me.. now I wake up with her sleeping on my face in the morning.

i've had him since he was a baby... i'd think he'd be attached. maybe i'm just too expectant/hopeful?

Hi Sam!

They all have diff personalities so it is very possibly that since your dragon is 2 years, that he may not become any more snuggly then he already is. Don't feel bad...my Drago is not a snuggle bug either but I still love him to pieces! lol! I am actually looking to get another beardie, possibly a rescue or a female & hopefully me next one will love me a bit more! lol

What little experience I have is similar to what has already been said. Lil Alvin likes me to hold him and stays real still but I have figured out it is because he is still scared. Once he figures out there are no boogies that are going to get him he tries all ways to run away and explore. I have not let him down yet though as he is so little (only 2 mo old) and I am afraid of losing him or the dogs or cat will get him. However, like others said, he gets tired after a certain point and I can put him on a wash cloth in my hand and cover him up and he is out like a light until the next morning. When I wake up he is still sleeping in the wash cloth. It is so cute.

see i'm worried about letting him roam around too.

one time i took a shower and kept him in my bedroom with the door closed, and when i came back i couldn't find him anywhere! I searched until i found him passed out under the bed in the corner. do they fall asleep because they're cold, or just something they do?

I hear of people leaving their beardies out at night, and possibly all day (i can't know for sure, it's only what i've heard from on this forum). and i'd be worried about the falling asleep and possibly being attacked by my cats.

I def wouldn't leave him out over night &/or unattended. Some people claim that theyre cats are "friendly" or ok around their beardies but in my opinion, cats are stalkers & it is natural for them to want to catch & eat your beardie. Plus, like u said....u leave the room for a few mins & come back....beardie is hiding & hard to locate! lol! I think they just like to snuggle up in a warm/dark &/or comfy spot. lol

enjoy your time while he does sleep on you, this is definatly one of the bigges perks of owning a beardie. if he sleeps on you he does trust and love you

lol yeah he does sleep on me.

I'll turn off the lights and put him on my lap while i laptop around. he'll pass out almost instantly.

for the longest time my beardie wanted nothing to do with me. she would poof at me and even bit me once, but after alot of time and tons of effort she will curl up on me and sometimes when shes exploring and gets tired will find me just to curl up...although i cant use my laptop when shes out cuz she thinks she needs to stand on it..lol...shes about 2yrs also.

when i have my beadie out an im on my laptop he'll hop up on my keybored(he isnt big enough to push keys...yet) an lay down up at the top on the music keys an just falls asleep ZZZzzz...

im having the same kind o issue my beardie is only 4 months old and only just lets me occaisonaily stroke him in his viv its kinda dissheartaning as my mates just walks straight onto my hand just sleeps.
Any ideas on what i could do? as theres no way that right no i cold pick him up. and i really just wanna sit with him on my lap.
