Small Superworms?

I know the hazards of feeding mealworms (with their hard outer shell), but what about Small Superworms?

I saw some at: greatlakeshornworm.com

I would think that since they have more protein and less chitin they would be good.

Any suggestions?

A lot of people say you shouldn't feed superworms till a bd is 17 inches long, but I started feeding superworms when my bd was 11" and had no problems.

Actually, I meant SMALL Superworms, which are basically the same as regular superworms, but only about 3/4" to 1".

I've only found a few places that carry them.

What size are the ones you use?

Yes, you are correct. I left out the "small" part too, but I assumed that was known. Get the small superworms and start by feeding just one or two to your BD and make sure he poops OK. I was feeding him 3/4 inch super worms. The company I used to get them from doesn't have a website anymore. Now my beardie is full grown and takes full size supers.

Your welcome . They are much easier to keep than crickets, which stink and die, and cheaper than roaches. But now supers are my dragons favorite food. He won't even touch crickets, even though he used to love them when he was young.

You will be fine with the small suppers, but wait theres more.
You will still need to vary the diet. A dragon feeding soley on suppers will tend to get fat without storing the fat properly.

Thanks Wolfman!. Yes, we also feed them greens daily (they seem to prefer mustard greens).
