So, about a couple months ago I got a call that someone had found a red eared slider that had been hit by a car. We took it in, and got her to the vet. This is what she looked like when she came to us:

Her Carapace was badly fractured, however her innards and her plastron was unscathed. She was missing a 1 inch triangle of shell on top. The vet and I apoxied her shell back together and fashioned a fiberglass patch for the piece of missing shell. After a long course of antibiotics and pain meds, she is healing well and eating like a piggy!! I hope to be able to release her soon. Here are some more current pics.

It did take some time, but I am a manager at the veterinary clinic I work at, so the vet didn't charge me anything but the cost of the medication. I am so happy that she is healing so quickly. I hope she can be released before she gets too used to captive life!
