Hello, just read your whole thread. I am so sorry to read about what you went through with Lenny. Did you ever get the breeder to agree to pay you back the money or do anything to compensate? You really did give him a nice life while you lived with him. Sounds like you did absolutely everything you could to try and save him, but his liver was too bad by the time you got him. And then to have to deal with the loss of the turtle a few days later. I'm really sorry to hear that you had to go through all that.

That's exciting to hear about all the new babies! Looking forward to seeing more pictures!

I lost them on the same day just Lloyd was at the vet when he passed. Now we have a new tortoise who is 1 year old and a new baby beardy. We have not heard anything much back from the breeder I have contacted him several times but he claims I have not given him all the information he needs. He also claims that he responded within 24 hours of every email...which is a lie because I have emailed him twice since the last email and its been 4 days. He said he needed copies of all the vet bills and he needed to contact the vet. I think contacting the vet and having them confirm what happened should be enough but its a huge fiasco. I hate this and I spent a lot of money on him 140 dollars....he was going to be a great breeder....ugh. Problem is its not the breeders fault that a prize dragon died but I think its unfortunate that he is being like this with me. I am a college student starting to get into the bearded dragon business and this happens. Thats why you always watch who you buy from. I get to see my other baby in a couple days and I can't wait! tank is not all ready still have to wash the rocks and bleach everything....ugh going to take forever....I'll do it tomorrow night so it has a day to dry out. I love my bearded dragons but the pictures are few and far between because everyone wants to sleep! The new baby is afraid of us still, i can't blame him he's 4 inches long and we are giants.

Funny story. I took pip out today, she isn't as sleepy. She decided she did not want to stay on my lap. I let her run around on the ground and all around the living room. I can hear her causing havoc exploring a back or scratching at the bug boxes and then she runs over by the television. She must have been cold because she decided to wedge herself on the warm power bar that is behind the entertainment center. If my camera was charged I would have taken a picture. She was wedged pretty bad and it took some manuevering to even get to her. The little stinker!

I wish Zippy would wake up....when he is awake....he looks at the worms on the ground and puts his nose up and walks the other way. At least he is eating his greens everyday. Today though he didn't come out at all...sometimes I freak out and want to poke them to make sure they are ok. I don't like brumation...and this is my first.

That breeder should do something for you or AT LEAST offer an apology or something. I just lost my bearded dragon. He got sick out of no where and died within 4 days. I was in contact with the breeder from the minute he got sick. They were giving me advice on what to do for him and when they found out he passed they offered me another one right away. I had Elliott for over a year before he passed and they still said that since they knew I did everything right with him for his care they feel that it was something that he may have been born with. That's the kind of breeder you want to deal with, not this guy demanding all kinds of paperwork and lying about emails he never sent! At least you know that you will conduct your business the right way once it gets going.

I am going to be getting the new bearded dragon Nov 28th after I come back from vacation in New Hampshire for Thanksgiving. I too will be spending A LOT of time cleaning and sanitizing rocks, branches, and the cage itself tonight to get ready. So you'll be in good company 8)

Haha yeah I am about to email the guy again. I am really fed up with it. I think he thinks I am trying to pull a fast one on him. I sent him pictures of the dead animal....why should he have anything else? I really just want my money back I don't want another one of his dragons. After all this junk I think I deserve that. Why should I need to send him all that paper work when he can just call the vet? I don't want to go through all the trouble of driving to the vet getting all the paper work scanning it and then not getting an email back...

I know how you must feel, but I do think it would be worth your while to send all the paperwork and get back what you deserve, do it in Lenny's memory and hopefully it'll make that breeder pay.

No reply from the breeder however lots has happened since my last update. Its raining babies at my house, beardy babies. Haha. Well I caved and bought more than one german giant...ended up with 3. Hey at 20 dollars that is not bad plus I wanted a few females. I'll post pics of the wo babies but not the little boy german giant we couldn't pass up. At the moment they are a month and a half old, and 6 inches long. They eat like chow hounds! 1/2 inch crickets and 5 of them in a setting. CUTE as a button and I love them so much already and its been two days? haha

Anyway A happy start to my new babies is not what I came to tell you about....we had yet another death. Not Pip or Zippy or Cagney or Keeko but one of the new babies. This morning I stupidly left Pip's cage open....you probablly know where this is headed....I didn't think anything of it but I then opened the babies cage that is below Pip. She stares at them all day and decided to be a big fat stinker today. While I was getting the tiny crickets ready for the babies breakfast I hear a big clunk and another big clunk....Chunky Pip has launched herself from her cage into the babies cage and attacked one of them. She swallowed it whole....I tried to grab it out of her mouth and pry her jaw open but the more I flicked her nose and the more I tried to open her mouth the tighter her grip became. I couldn't get the baby out....I felt like a failure...and such an *****...
I almost burst into tears. I haven't held Pip all day....and I don't want to I am so angry with her and she knows it. I have not given her one bit of attention today at all...I peaked at her once but thats it. I can't even look at her.... She knows I am upset I can tell because she has been sulking in her cage with a dull black beard...giving me the sad eyes. I just can't forgive her in an instant...I know she was hungry but she didn't want to take her turn and ended up becoming a cannibal.

I asked my friend if its ok that she swallowed the baby whole and he said she should be fine...I want her to suffer a little is that bad? I want her to have a belly ache so she remembers that she can't do that.

I sound crazy...ugh its a dragon...in the wild she would have done the same....

Here is Athena sleeping. I haven't been trying to scare her too much with photographs...but she looked so stinkin cute under the paper towel sleeping when I came home I had to snap the picture.

Took Zippy out and he was a little sleepy still. All he wants to do is sleep in the back of the cage. After this I set him on the couch and let him roam but he ended up jamming himself into the couch to go to sleep. I haven't fed him in a couple days...he doesn't want to eat bugs...just his greens still.

Oh my word.............I've been off line since my last post here d/t computer issues and I'm so sorry to come back to read about your loss, AGAIN, you must have been devasted to witness that..........I know I would have been, you've already gone through so much, I'm so, so sorry. So was it your german giant boy that Pip got or one of the females. You have so many now I can't keep track, but it's wonderful, huh?.........your pics are precious.

I'm SO sorry to hear about what happened. How are your feelings towards Pip now? I guess the only thing you can do at this point is learn from the experience and be careful to keep the beardies more separated. At least when they are that different in size.

Well we have a friend that would give us an already started one that is mature. So thats not a problem. I wouldn't touch them at all...food....

Haha I totally touch them now not as bad as I thought.

All is well in the house of bear dies. Pip has finally started bruiting and I wake her up every couple days to feed her and bath her. Same with zippy....at least I have babies to play with right?

Yay beardie Christmas! Mine would be giving me the stink eye if I took them out to take a christmas picture....not to mention it wouldn't be safe at all....and the baby would proly die of fright!

I have no updates lately because...THERE is nothing to update about...even the baby has been being sleepy mimicking her elders! *sigh* the boys are still doing well. We are about to separate them soon because we are already seeing a little dominance starting. No nipping yet but I would like to avoid it at all cost. We are going to split them into our 75 gallon so that gives them 32 gallons of space about. They will share the UVB and I'll have to buy another light. Ugh so many expenses these bearded dragons have.

Since I have posted my friend has told me that he is going to give me one of his beardies from his latest clutch. Even though it wasn't his fault he would like to replace the baby I lost a month or so back. He had a batch of hypos hatch and he decided he would let me have one of those. Can't wait to see her!

That's exciting news, A NEW BABY,.............you won't be able to put her with your other babies, they'll attack her..........that's what happened to my Bella..........her previous owner had a clutch, bought Bella and put her in with his own clutch, and the rest you know about..........but let's move on from that.........A NEW BABY, A NEW BABY, Any names yet or pics? Oooo I might not get her then. I don't have the space for another tank nor the money to buy another tank. I was going to stick the new one in with Athena but since that sounds like anot so good idea now I may tell him to forget about it. I swear, I need a house with a giant reptile room....lol I would have so many if I could. Me and my fiance are going to look for a place with an extra room or a finished basement where we can continue our obsession lol.

I only have a few pics of Achillies and Percius not many of little Athena. Pip and Zippy are sleeping so they are no fun. I also have some pis of Squirt. I was leaving her ot because I was afraid I would tell you all that I got a new tortoise and then she would die....but she is happy and healthy! So I can post a few of those I guess. She is about a year old and she loves loves loves eating grass hay. I wish I knew more food that sulcattas can eat safely. I need to get her a cuttlebone to chew on. But I am worried I don't have th complete diet she needs. Its hard caring fr a desert tortoise that eats SO much food. Anyway here ae some pics!

We still have the boys together in a cage but we are starting to clean out the 75 gallon. We plan to split it and then have boh of the boys in that. They are starting to get alittle territorial and waving a lot more at each other so we think, before anything happens we should split them. Photobucket is being slow....is there an easier photo upload site? I hate photobucket because of all the ads that make it slow...

I Don't want to deal with it right now so Pics of Squirt will have towait.
