I'm a bit worried that my new juvenile bearded dragon may be dehydrated from the shipping experience. Aries was shipped overnight by FedEX. I offer him a shallow dish of water but he doesn't seem to drink it (just runs through it). I offer him a plate of veggies wet down by water, but, again, he isn't interested and just basks all day. I got him to eat a tiny piece of apple, red bell pepper, and celery leaf today, and 8 dubia roaches.
Will the food provide him enough moisture? I was thinking of buying black soldier fly larvae because they are known to be high in water and nutrition.
Should I continue to spray him and the walls of his enclosure every morning? He never drinks it. Should I take away the water dish and try to give him a bath instead? He seems stressed enough already (judging by his belly stress marks).
Thank you. Confused by all the contradictory info online.
