this is rediculous...that beardie will be amazingly beautiful when it gets better...total respect for everone that goes out and rescues animals...if anyone needs anything...PM me...i work for a reptile/bird rescue called Back to the Wild in castalia ohio...we have a LOT of reptiles and eagles that come into our shelter. i could answer any questions you might have or if i cant, the owner can. Mona Rutger, she won Animal Planets-Hero of the Year award in 2006 so she is reputable and very smart

I can't even look at those pictures. Compared to that, Cam was the poster girl for beardie health when I rescued her! How could anyone let an animal get so skinny, so malnourished? Is she definitely a female, or is it too soon to tell?

I hope you can get them better. Miss Y wasn't even that skinny when she got anexoric on us. She was skinny for about one year before she died. We didn't know why she got that way and went to vets in our area that didn't really know how to help. Then we knew nothing about beardies and didn't have a good herp vet in our town. We tried to get help everywhere and got none. I don't know about the original owner of these two, but some people with sick beardies may not know what to do to help. Now we've found this site and it has helped but we hadn't found this site back when she was sick.

Out here they just told me to call the police but I dont have there address....only the a photo and phone number and name. I wish there was a list for that cause that would be awesome!!

Hello,

Keep us posted on your girl. How is she doing today?
Is she taking in any food without it coming back up? Remember to keep the feeding very small & frequent to help her body process it easier. I am sure she is half starved so her body is not working optimally yet.
How many times a day are you trying to feed her? Also, be sure to keep her hydrated too.
I know you are doing the best you can, just take it slow with her. The recovery is going to be slow, she is so dehydrated & emaciated.
She will be beautiful when she recovers, bless her.

Thank You everyone. I got bad news, we thought she was doing great....sadly she passed away today. She was loved finally and knew it! She dont have to suffer anymore...we tried all we could do but she was ready to go. Thanks again for all your help!!

I am so sorry for your loss, and am grateful that this precious beardie had a little time with someone who loved her, she was so ill, you did all you could, I'm sorry..................we are all heartbroken for you..........but she is at peace now, very sad.

Oh, I am SO sorry. The poor thing but at least she found out what being cared for and loved was all about. You tried your best, her body just couldn't handle any more. We all feel very badly but there was nothing more that you could do. Thank you for giving her better care than she had her whole life, you are a great person.

I hope the person that did this to her can also get what is coming to them.
