Shedding

So, I think Scorch is finally shedding... he has loose skin on his front legs. He's kind of a darker and dull color right now, visibly bigger, so it's about time for a shed. But he so grumpy!! :x still pooing in his salad. :roll: turning his nose up at his dubias....eh- he ate a couple. Kinda lethargic, but still alert, opens his eyes and tilts his head all around to look at me... though it feels like he's glaring at me. Sheesh! Do they make midol for dragons?!?

The only thing I'm concerned about is kind of floppy front feet. Best way to describe it? The feet get turned under a bit? It's not always. But, just concerned it might be MBD rearing its ugly head because of his rough beginning. OR could he possibly be bothered by the shedding on his front legs??? Either way, gonna try and get him some extra calcium, since we're semi snubbing dubias at the moment.. get vitamins going... and double check his temps. Is there any particular food that most beardies just find irresistible??? Mine can take or leave his salads... clearly, he poops in them about 3 times a week. ?

Some can be very grumpy and go off their grub when shedding, all itchy and uncomfortable...and feeling yuck.

Make sure he has some rough surfaces to rub on , scratch against, crawl over, even crawl under, some 1" thick sticks with lots of sharp pointy bits where twigs have been broken off are great, as as bits of very rough bark.A quick visit to nearest woodland or forest and you'll soon find a few suitable sticks on the ground.
Most beardies can get their shed off entirely without any human intervention.

Keep on offering him his live bugs (for a young dragon lots of live bugs are crucial for rapid growth and proper development, keep on dusting the bugs with calcium power daily , providing his UVB is at least 10% and at the right distance and he gets lots of time to bask each day he'll be fine.

The front feet being tucked under (like a cat) is a beardie quirk. So long as he does it only occasionally there is nothing to worry about.
