She feels like a cactus

I was snuggling Mari as usual when all of a sudden I got caught on the soft part of my hand by one of her spikes on the back of her head, which hurt a lot! I don’t remember bearded dragons ever getting such hardened spikes, are they supposed to be that hard and pointy? Lol.

They can hurt if they catch you at just the right angle. Especially when they puff themselves out the spikes will be a bit less forgiving than usual. Nothing personal, hooman :wink:
