Hey there everyone! I know I have been scarce the past couple of years (went back to school in addition to being mom to 5!!) but I used to come here a whole lot and I know a lot of the "old-timers" here will remember me. I lost my 7yo boy recently, most likely after he got hold of a firefly My POINT, and yes I do have one, is that I have decided to let fate decide whether I get a new baby soon. I entered a contest to win a baby on Facebook. I don't know if SushiDragons.com is a member here or not but they are the ones giving a baby away to whomever gets the most votes and since my old friends here know that I have maintained a high level of standards in caring for my boy who is now gone, I thought maybe you'd like to vote for my banners. Thank you to everyone who has helped me in a time of panic or concern or just when I was sharing a silly beardie story over the years. I have also loved hearing all the stories about your dragons too. It has been sad to see some of the guys who are now no longer with us. :love5:

DOH! Good luck to you too I guess I see some people entering who have these amazing lizard rooms and tons of beardies of all sorts of special hybridization and wonder why they want to win this one. Ofcourse, I would love a "mutt" as much as one who has special colors or textures of skin. We have always been a one lizard family and are just looking to have one boy or girl to dote on again Our enclosure is a part of the living room and sad as it is, I can't bring myself to even take down Beardie's empty home since it's been there since we moved in. Maybe after the contest winner is announced, I can "go there".

We only have 1 beardie right now and he's like my daughter's little buddy...Hence the pool pictures. lol She loves him. I think it'd be awesome for her to see one from so little to grown up.

Our boys tank is in my daughters room, she wakes him up in the morning and puts him to bed at night. She loves having him in her room, calls him "Her Iccarus" It's the sweetest thing.

But I do wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Aww, that is so cute My kids are having a hard time losing our guy as they were really attached too. My son has some pretty extreme anxiety and depression issues and frequently, I would shove Beardie into his hands when he was really keyed up. The quiet and gentle nature of Beardie was a real balm to him. We have two pet rats now who are VERY popular with the kids but they don't have that quiet "chill" about them like our lizard boy. Of course being girl rats, some of that is natural
