We just got a great deal on a viv from a craigslist ad; a 4'x2'x20" for only $100.
This is what it looked like on the ad
When we brought it home, right away I started the process of cleaning it out. It had a lot of stuff stuck to the floor & walls. After about an hour and a half I got the right side done and decided to call it a day.
The next day, and about another hour later, I finished getting all the nasties out.
We just finished mounting the new UV fixture; that was an adventure in itself! Just picture two girls, myself and a girlfriend(my boyfriend is too big and we have smaller hands), half way in a box with our butts in the air, one trying to hold the light the other trying to get the nut on the screw...LMAO). Finally, after 3 trips to Lowes, we found a blub to use for a basking light that didn’t create enough heat to completely roast our new baby!
This is the light we are using. This blub would work right? The temperature is reading 112F at the moment. We use a thermometer w/probe.
Here’s what we have so far; White Duck-Brand shelf liner, UV & fixture, basking light, thermometer w/probe. We want to raise the basking spot just a bit, and of course move the babies blankie, teddy bear "monkey", and climbing wood from his old enclosure into this new one soon.
I'll be posting more photos onces its all setup as well.
