Hi everyone,
So my beardie Otto went into brumation in Nov. and slept on & off until early Feb. when he started coming out of it. He lost a small amount of weight, but nothing alarming, so we figured everything was good. However, his appetite never returned to pre-brumation levels, though he is eating a few bugs here & there and appears normal when he's up. His weight is still declining a little and he's taken to his hide again. I have tried switching up bugs & greens, but he's not interested.
With the little amount he's eating, he's barely pooping, so I'm waiting until he does again so I can take him & a sample to the vet to check for parasites. In the meantime, is there anything I should be looking for or doing? My biggest concern is that he wasn't getting calcium during brumation and isn't now because he's not really eating. I've mixed some Repashy vitamin + calcium powder in a dropper with water & kinda trick him into drinking it by dripping plain water on his snout until he starts drinking & then switching droppers. I don't want to force feed unless I have to.
I guess my question is: is he still partially in brumation or is this a sign of a problem, and if a problem, what do you suggest? His temps and lighting are good per the standard advice here, and he's a little over a year and half old. Thanks!
