Selective breeding and creating new color morphs.

From my research, Josh purchased the first breeding pair of trans, and outcrossed them to produce a healthier dragon. From what I have seen the color quality of most trans dragons is very low. Good color saturation of trans dragons isn't the norm. As far as the super trans, they are just colorless dragons that come from breeding 2 trans parents with good transparency. They tend to opaque as adults and have poor coloring (I would be interested in seeing a nice "super trans" adult). It has something to do with the conflict between the gene for trans and the white background needed for good color to show. Hypo trans is even more difficult because of what both genes, hypo and trans, do to deplete the color background. My information comes from breeders who are in close communication with Steven and Josh, as well as emails and web searches.

We are at a point where the best of all morphs is possible but only through selective breeding. Less than 1% of them end up being true "collectors" quality.

so my traditional trans male and female will lose their colours as they shed out? my orange female seems to be getting darker with each shed. shes in her third shed since i've had her. and my red male is staying where he is and he has shed once and is currently getting ready to shed again. but speaking of morphs and breeding, true leucstics with the blue eyes. any one found one yet or have a pic of one?

Actually trans become more opaque as the mature, but the vibrancy of the colors has to do with the amount of background the color has. I have 4 trans dragons right now and I sold my "super" trans since the coloring had "black" background and the yellow it had was completely washed out.
