Hi,
I just saw a very weird occurrance in my baby beardie. She's about 4-5 months old. Right as i dropped the first cricket in her cage, she opened her mouth and did slow motion move like she was going to run to grab it, but didn't go anywhere. Does that make sense? She lifted up her right arm and then her left arm, but didn't move. It was like she was in a trance. It only happened this one time, and she went on to eat regularly and is totally fine like nothing happened. I consulted my book and it seems as thought i can describe it as a seizure maybe? Does this sound like something others have seen? This is the first she's done it in the almost three weeks I've had her now. The book mentions calcium deficiency; however, I dust her crickets every day with rep cal calcium with D3, she is under a flo light with uvb and a basking light with uva. Doesn't seem like a calcium problem to me.
Also, I am concerned about over feeding her. How do I know if I am? She's eating 10 to 14 1/4 inch crickets every day, at one sitting. I can only feed her once a day due to my work schedule, unfortunately. I'm only giving her a cricket one by one until she stops. Am I over feeding?
