Over the past few weeks I've noticed that each time I put Crixus back I have a 4" long area on my arm where it's against his back and is red and looks scratched up, but goes away after 30 minutes or less.. does anyone else run into this, is it just the scales aggravating my skin??

I have the same, but only when I have her on my chest where the skin is more sensitive/less exposed than on my arms. It just looks a bit irritated. I was wondering the same question!

The scales are rough and can and will irritate the skin, especially if there's any friction (such as the beardie rubbing against your skin or squirming). I encounter this kind of skin irritation handling rough-scaled animals that are especially squirmy, and every so often beardies can be.

Try using lotion more often to have better hydrated skin - that helped me with some of the more minor irritations.

If that doesn't help (and you may not have as chronically dry of skin as I do :) ), it's probably not a bad idea to either protect your skin with a towel or to make sure you're not restricting your beardie's movement at all so that it's rubbing you.

TY for the response.. I do have chronic dry skin and this only happens because I often take my beardie down a set of stairs and use my wrist/arm to hold him to my chest so I can hold the railing going down so as not to have an accident, he doesn't squirm at that point, but my arm shifting prob. does cause this to happen. I'll take the advice w/ the lotion and see if it helps. BTW, I love LLLreptile.. prob. one of the better sites to shop for supplies.. :p

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
