So I was holding Scout today and then noticed his little toe on one of his feet was red under the scales and was swollen (just the toe is swollen) and it is bending sideways in a way it shouldn't. I moved it 'in place' and there's definitely a break in his toe bone. I didn't get a pic of the toe, and right now I have vet wrapped his foot lightly to keep the toe in place so it doesn't get turned sideways again.
I don't know when he broke it, or how he broke it, as I didn't notice it hurt earlier when I had him out today, I only just noticed like half an hour ago.
His substrate is ceramic tile (he could have possibly gotten it stuck in a crack in the tile. He was black bearding a lot earlier today, but I thought he was just upset because of the new baby bearded dragon next door to him or the fact he can see his reflection in the tank).
He doesn't have a bunch of big things to climb on, but I suppose he has stuff he could get his toe stuck in.
Again, it's swollen, red under the scales, and can twist to the side like 90 degrees, which his other little toe that is not swollen or injured cannot. And right now I've just vet wrapped it to immobilise it D= He's currently just snuggling with me on his new pillow pet he got for christmas. This sound alright? I don't have betadine and I don't think neosporin will do much since it doesn't look like there is any broken skin, just a broken bone/dislocated toe.
