Hello everyone! Its been a while but I've got a few questions tonight.
I came home and found a VERY SKINNY, tired scorch with her leg up looking absolutely miserable.
Lifted up her papers and saw about 30 eggs there. I disposed of the eggs and gave her some time to recover before feeding her about 4 worms. Then I left her be for about 45 mins then put her to bed (she was 2 hours overdue for bedtime).
I'm going to bathe her tomorrow and feed her all the dusted worms she can eat. Hopefully it wont hurt that I didn't bathe her tonight...
So I have a few questions...
1) How often will she lay? When is laying season? And could switching her to sand for about 3 days then switching her back to newspaper possibly triggered her to produce eggs?
2) Should I worry about her being egg bound? She cooled off for about 30 minutes after I changed her papers and removed the eggs, then she went after her worms like a ravenous beast, and I even saw her picking at some of her greens. I felt just behind her tail and felt a little lump but figured this might be normal. I couldn't remember...
This is all I can think to ask now.
I was not prepared for an egg laying beardie and neither was my mom, she called me in hysterics when she saw scorch laying.
She most of all would appreciate these questions answered.
Thank you very, very much!
