SCARED TO HANDLE!! HELP

It seems like you've been convinced, but just to further help you, I'll put in my 2 cents. My beardie is full grown and was not raised with my rabbit. In fact, he was a rescue, and wasn't handled very much at all. Despite that, they are totally fine with each other! Occasionally they will touch noses, but usually they just give each other space. My beardie loves to climb around in my rabbit's crate, but respects her enough to only go in there when she is not.

If my guy doesn't try to bite my 4 pound rabbit, I have a hard time imagining your guy biting you! They're smart enough to know when they are outmatched!

Just go for it , and you will never put him down after that , They are sweet and don't usually bite, just make sure you support him when you pick him up, he's just as nervous as you are , but once he trusts you, he 'll like being held. Trust each other and you will live happily ever after.

I handle Lincoln all day long and he never shows any signs of trying to bite me. He seems to love to be handled, he clings onto me when i try to put him back in his viv. Bearded dragons are just awesome pets

Yea put him on your shoulder, he will just hang out there all day! He may want to explore so let him have fun! He may even give you a beardie kiss by pressing his nose on your neck!! Like everyone said, once you pick him up you wont want to put him down!!! Good luck to you!!!!

My beardie like to ride in my car and look out the window! He loves to be held and likes to snuggle in my neck or on my shoulder. They are really very sweet animals. Once you start handling him, you won't want to put him down...

These are my two babies, they sleep in fleece blankets at night. Each night I wrap them up for snuggle time and they go to bed in their blankies.

How aggressive do they look? Hehehehe...not very!

Thank you alll soooooo very much, I just put Puffy down, (yes I put him on my bed with me) he acted a little nervous because he has never been there, and "acted" like he was gonna jump off, but didn't.. I have a question "do little kids (5 and 7 year olds) make em nervous"? Nervous enough to make them run away? I LOVE MY BABY, well all of them, beardie and kids.... LOL :lol:

yay !!!! you did it (I"m clapping and doing cartwheels) i don't think it matters one way or another to the beardies how old any body is as long as they are handled lovingly, and with respect. I think beardies are one of the best pets for children (as well as us adults) as long as there is supervision .

Ive got NINE dragons.... :roll: :roll: :roll:

And everytime I try to figure out who's my favorite.... they ALL end up being my favorite for 9 DIFFERENT reasons! LOL

Eragon - he's just such a laid back sweetie, and LOVES to be held so much that he'll butt wiggle, and close his eyes with a SMILE on his face!

Sunny - he's a snuggler, and LOVES to beardie kiss my neck with his nose. He turns BRIGHT yellow when held.... and has the sweetest FAT face and chocolate brown eyes

Tazzy - what a love! He will hold onto me and just calmly look around. Dont try to put him back... he hands on TIGHT!!!!

Zelda - what a sweet girl... she gives me such sweet looks... turns her head and looks at me sideways.... we call that the "love eye". She's so affectionate and loves to snuggle close.

Linky - MR ATTITUDE! He's the drama king equivalant of Nero! LOL Gotta head bob everything, always has a black beard while doing so, but you pick him up, and he MELTS into you... he LOVES to be held, and is about as aggressive as a stuffed animal. LOL

Mercury - He has only recently allowed us to handle him - but hes so curious and sweet - and still very small. (He's Hermes the micro dragon's brother LOL) As he's grown, hes become calmer and wants to be held more. He loves to sit in his viv over my desk and watch me all day.

Jack - my latest rescue - gentle sweet loving Jack.... would do ANYTHING to be held and talked to and snuggled... need I say more?

Astarte aka Star - what a sweetheart. She gets bright orange when held, and loves to go outside and go for walks (as do Eragon, Tazzy and Sunny).
She is crazy about my "some day" son in law, and loves to be talked to and kissed on the chin.

Then there's my birthday present - my baby Destiny Rose. Ive only had her since this past Tuesday, but she LOVES to be held, LOVES to be talked to, and already loves to be put to bed in a burrito each night.

Mercury is the only beardie Ive ever had trouble holding, and he would open his mouth at me threatening to bite me.... and I just let him. It NEVER hurt, never broke the skin, and it taught him that I was not afraid of him, and that it wouldnt do him any good to bite me. Now he enjoys being held like everyone else.
