Salad recipes?!?!

It's me again so with my baby Charmander making salads isn't something I do everyday bc she rarely eats them, but paarth is at the age where he should love his salads. The plain stuff I feed him he doesn't love but he eats it. So I was wondering if any one had some good recipes they use on their beardies!

Do you think what Im doing is good or bad then? I dont give them everyday and only the two. She is not a tiny baby but she's certainly not an adult. 8 inches maybe? I dont want to do anything that would hurt her.

Once they get to about 15-16", then they can eat pretty much anything (in moderation). When they are small, there are alot of twists and turns in the digestive tract. It will straighten out as they grow larger, allowing bulkier and 'rougher' food to flow through. Softer bodied feeders with less chitten shell, are best for beardies under 16", like phoenix worms. Their soft exoskeleton is actually made from calcium. Silk worms and hornworms are also great feeders, but can get quite big.

Thanks for the advice - I wonder what to do with the few meal worms I have now

The local pet stores dont carry those special worms and online sells them in such large quantity - can anyone recommend a good seller?

P.S. Sorry about shifting theis convo thread to bugs. Salad diets are a much more fun conversation. :) I bought some cilantro after reading that other beardies love it - Zoey hasnt tried it yet though.

this is a great chart for determining what they can and can't eat.
it's color coded too.

rose petals are supposed to be a favorite too. there is a list of plants they can eat, just make sure it isn't anything that's been treated with pesticides.

My beardie's salad mainly consists of shredded bok choy leaves, occasionally mixed with blueberries or strawberries once or twice a week. I've tried dandelion leaves and she spat the first bite out  She's very picky when it comes to fruits, so I stick to greens and veggies most of the time.

A lot of the fruits cause runny poop, so I feed those as a treat. Tasty Treat loves strawberries, but she haw a hard tome picking them up. I have to hold it in my hand and hope she doesn't miss. Make sure you remove the seeds.

I tried banana today. Boy did Zoey love that!! I had to laugh at how she literally was looking for me to give her more of it. Just like humans in how they like sweet stuff huh?

Eh.. Tasty Treat also loves bananas, fed on occasion since they are high in phosphorus. She was looking for more and I guess her foot smelled like it (?) Cause she tried to eat her own foot! Good thing I was there to cover her foot.

A couple meal worms won't hurt. Just do it once a week Charmander loves meal worms and she only 4 months and 10-11 inches so I only offer them once a week to avoid impacting.

I usually dice up red and yellow peppers, grate some carrots, diced snap peas, bok choy grated up, diced peaches and then mix it all together with organic butternut squash baby food.

Izzy seems to love it and dex my 8 month old won't even touch veggies or fruits haha

From what I have read some are very picky and won't eat veg/fruit and some love it. My three year old loves her live food and her veg/fruit.

If your having troubles getting them to eat vegetables and fruits make sure you are cutting them small enough first off haha I cut everything to less than 1/8 of an inch squared and of they still won't eat make sure you dust their live food with multivitamins at least twice a week.

Babies/juveniles need more live then fruit/veg and adults need more fruit/veg then live food at about a 80%/20% ratio.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
