Safe plants?

So I had seen a link on another discussion to http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html and seen on their list of beardie safe plants maple leaves, sage, lavender, clover, day lilies, and phlox. I am a botanist and in the area that I am in we have several wild sages, clovers, phlox, lilies, and maples. Some are introduced or horticultural varieties and some are natives such as most of the phlox, sages and lilies. I was wondering if all species were safe to feed to beardies or if there where any that weren't.

I am also interested in this answer.
If you're a botanist, perhaps you can help to answer this yourself, as I'm sure many others are interested as well :D
Do you know what the difference are between these species?
Do simply grow in different enviornments?
Require different nutrients?
Is there composition generally the same?

Well on the sight it simply says sage for example and the main genus of sage is artemisia which is what I assume is what they are talking about, but the genus salvia is actually in the mint family but its common name is lance leaf sage which could apply also. This is the problem with using common names. I just don't want to get confused and feed a beardie something that I would think is safe such as lance leaf sage when it isn't. So I was seeing if any one could be more specific, but I did actually answer my own question. I just had to think about it a little bit more lol. Thanks

And to answer your question I believe most of the species are relatively the same just slightly different habitats and nutrient requirements. so for sage I would only feed things in the artemisia genera, and day lilies in the Hemerocallis genera, phlox in the phlox genera, colvers in the dalea, Melilotus, and Trifolium generas, and maples in the acer genera. As with all wild plants make sure they are herbicide and pesticide free first as some are weeds. a sign of a plant that has been sprayed with herbicide is that it will be growing is odd shapes and have discolored leaves. I have a peice of land were I am the only one that sprays so I know where I can get safe plants from. Make sure and identify the plants at least down to genus first a great website is http://plants.usda.gov/java/nameSearch it will have a place with related species and usually has a picture and it has a range distribution map as well so you can see if you have these plants in you area. And if you have any more questions that I might be able to answer I would be more then happy to answer. The reason why I say identify at least to genus is because Zigadenus is in the lily family but as its vommon name death camas suggests it is very poisonous. Thanks again for asking those questions and making me think for a second about it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
