Russell's finally awake!

Wow 4.5 months seemed like forever. I'm so happy to have my buddy back. Here he is on his new jungle gym I made. I got this grape wood from a Vinyard and used a pressure washer to remove the bark. All I need now is a light suspended over it so Russell can stay out longer.

Welcome back Russell! I'm glad to hear he's back to his old self. Those grape vines look perfect! Try clamping a fixture to a lamp post next to the wood or pick up an adjustable lamp stand that you can use to hang a fixture from. Portable basking areas are great to have.

Do you recommend any particular light? I was considering a MVB.

You could go MVB for an all inclusive basking area (it will need to be 12'' above the highest branch or so). Just a plain basking bulb or flood light would do the trick though if he has regular UVB exposure in his tank. Key outside the tank is just to provide a warm spot for him to return to when he gets chilly rather than a permanent solution. That said, if you want to provide an MVB go the whole way and pick up a Megaray or one of the good Arcadia rigs from Lightyourreptiles.
