i always thought that to ensure proper digestion in the wild beardies will bask on a rock because it holds heat in better then wood. should i use rocks for the basking spot or wood or is there really a difference
iv already taken care of all that.. iv had both my beardies for awhile now... i was just curious to see what everyones thoughts were about it. thanx for the reply tho
I use a rock, only because I think it would be so much more comfortable to lay on a warm rock than a cool piece of wood. Plus, it's a snap to clean.
Can't really speak for the beardies, though.. They might just prefer wood!
I have an assortment. I have river rocks, one old heat rock with the cord completely removed, a geode, and one of those table top fountains that is filled in with Great Stuff, with sand grouted and sealed in. I also have wooden "caves" (not in use yet, I want to make sure the little ones are acclimating well) I built a "Castle battlement" in a china cabinet for my handicapable 3 footsie Yardley with Greatstuff, styrofoam, and grout, also sealed in. There are also two Quartz pieces, and lots and lots of ceramic tiles.
