I have had my Dubia roaches for about 3 weeks now. I am really glad I got them but I know it will take awhile to get going. Since they do take awhile to get going, I was wondering if I should just get more supers in the mean time or if I should just get another type of roach like turks.
Thanks Jeff

Not sure how many Dubia ya got, or even more important, how many adult females you have at this moment. Either way you are probably looking at around 6-8months before your Dubia are going strong so you should definitely look for something to use in the meantime. Supers work great if your dragon is big enough for em. The Turks work very well and would be breeding about twice as fast as the Dubias so they are another great alternative while you wait on the Dubias. The Turks will give you another look at a different species of roach too, so you will come to appreciate them even more in the long run, so I would vote for them personally. Really, I couldn't see why not get all three! Variety never hurts.

I really like the fact that it is really really easy to care for and breed the roaches. I am sich of the expense for insects if you know what i mean. Although I have not tried to breed supers yet not even sure how.

I know exactly what you mean. Between the cost and the frequent trips or online ordering, it is just so much easier and cheaper to do it yourself.

Supers are not terribly hard to breed at all. Do a search for super breeding here in this forum and you will find a lot of really helpful posts detailing the setups and methods. They are a little more involved than roaches, since you have to "force pupation" of the supers to get them to morph into adult beetles, but that isn't as bad as it sounds by any means.

after doing a little research maybe I will try breeding supers too and I will still get some truks. Does anyone know where I can get some?

Jeff how many beardies or reptiles are you feeding?
I have 9 beardies....with the turks and supers that I breed I don't spend hardly anything on
feeders just treats here and there.
The supers took some time to get going as for the turks they take no time at all. :D

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
