First you need a good solid clear basking bulb to keep surface basking temps of 95-100 for a 6 month old dragon or 105-110 for a baby younger than 6 months- here are 3 of them that can be used
start w/ a 100 watt Flukers Basking Bulb Incandescent Reptile Light

a digital probe thermometer is going to tell you what wattage you need you want two of them one for basking side the other cool side Zoo Med Digital Thermometer for Terrariums
next one good UVB there are 3 to choose from - for a tank of 40+ gallons a 24" fixture will be good placement and distance for the UVB is determined by the screen on the tank
Zoo Med ReptiSun T5 HO High Output Terrarium Hood this comes w/ a 5.0 bulb you need this bulb
22" Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB T5 HO High Output Fluorescent Bulb
this one can be found at PetSmart you want the 24 watt 12% bulb
or this one you will need to change the bulb out to the Reptisun posted above for this fixture you want the 2 ft or 24" https://hydrobuilder.com/sunblaster...mp.html?opts=eyJhdHRyaWJ1dGU5MDEiOiI2NjEwIn0=
this is all you need for lighting at this point - if in time when winter comes and you need heat at night we can help you there - please post back on here when you get your tank set up for help w/ placement of the UVB and any other questions you have

I spoke with a breeder, and they suggested the UVB light be the whole tank length.
I need two lights for the whole tank the basking light and the UVB light.
also, I asked the same breeder about calcium power and the multi-vitamin powder and was told I just needed calcium with vitamin D3 in it, what do you use and what would you suggest? if you don't mind I know I tend to ask a lot of questions and it's just because I want to get it right so if you do not want to take the time to answer I understand but I do thank you for the information you have given me already.

Uvb's should not be the complete length of the tank-- dragons need to be able to sit in their tanks w/ out having to hide from it- calcium D 3 for a dragon till 1 year along w/ vitamins w/ beta carotene dusted on the insects calcium D 3 5 x per week ONCE per feeding vitamins 2 x per week ONCE per feeding lightly coated please--

Hello,

Karrie is right, it's usually recommended to have an area in their tank where they can retreat from the
UVB as well as from heat to cool down or get out of the sun, so to speak. That is essentially what they
would do in nature, so as keepers, we try to emulate nature as closely as we can.
Supplementation is important & I always say moderation is the key. We can help with brands as well,
if you need.
