thank you!!! just a first time owner. so it's ok to be able to feel their bones from their sides? also she's a little dark in this pic because i woke her up usually she's lighterkingofnobbys":3lxy64qc said:No problems with her ,she looks in very good shape and condition to me. What you are doing , keep on doing it as she's thriving.
thank you. she was only fed spinach and lettuce. she has a bit of a gut tho and i'm scared she's gravidAHBD":15rp067n said:I agree, she looks quite good and no real sign of MBD. She could stand to have a little more weight on her but not much.
i lifted up her tail and no lumps. the lumps on her side are hard like bones (why i posted). she's had a bath today, and was light and quite happy. her basking spot is about 107°f at its hottest point, and she usually loves it that way, but she's looking grey. could she be getting ready to shed? she hasn't in a long time to my knowledge.AHBD":270v05lb said:I hope not....but all the more reason to feed her twice a day for a while. I do see lumps on her side....that isn't ALWAYS an indication of eggs but it can be.
i used the base of her tail to lift her whole back side and it was flat, sorry lol i wasn't very specificAHBD":cwwgxmv6 said:With eggs there wouldn't be lumps under the tail, it would be along their sides for a gravid female.
so i lifted the base of her tail again and i can feel one small lump, in the middle of her belly area on the far left side. i couldn't rly feel one on the right. could this be a piece of apple? an egg? if it is an egg, how do i know when to put her into the sand to dig & how long will that take before she's back to normal.AHBD":1ej1knpx said:With eggs there wouldn't be lumps under the tail, it would be along their sides for a gravid female.

thanks!! yeah she's happy and active, just grey. especially when basking at first i thought she was mad at me but i think she's shedding. there's one little scale messed up on her beard (no wound and she doesn't mind when i touch it) is that how it starts y'think?kingofnobbys":2vdwbxl8 said:audreyjb":2vdwbxl8 said:i lifted up her tail and no lumps. the lumps on her side are hard like bones (why i posted). she's had a bath today, and was light and quite happy. her basking spot is about 107°f at its hottest point, and she usually loves it that way, but she's looking grey. could she be getting ready to shed? she hasn't in a long time to my knowledge.AHBD":2vdwbxl8 said:I hope not....but all the more reason to feed her twice a day for a while. yep impending shed .... adults can go 12 months between sheds , and only a scale here and there between.
eggs ? not so sure ... i'd feed her up and see if the "lumps" become more pronounced OR have a vet take xrays ....eggs will show up if there.
I just ran my finger along Peppa's belly just under her side spikes and I can feel her ribs , and her side looked much as you girl's , I know Peppa's not developing eggs.
I agree , more feeds will not harm her , i'd add a feed of insects per day , crickets / roaches/ locusts/ silkworms are best for her. See viewtopic.php?f=76&t=234999&p=1807834#p1807834 and viewtopic.php?f=18&t=236074.
