Oh my god I am in tears right now, that poor little angel. Thank you so much for trying to give her a life. I just don't understand how someone could treat a living thing like that. I could say so many things right now but I won't. :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5: :angry5:

I know and I see all those pics of healthy Bearded Dragon and I look at her in her cage... I'm not jealous or anything, it's just so... ARGH. I think I need a dictionary the only thing I can think of is **** ****** **** (self censored).

With the baths: Just brainstorming here, maybe if you put something under her that will allow her legs to still hang freely like a rolled up washcloth or something? You can make it long enough to go under the head as well so you don't have to worry about it going underwater. In order to get the strength to stand, she'll have to use her muscles and water therapy is a good place to start. Even if everyone thinks the chances are slim, it can't hurt to try right?. My vet said my iguana would never climb again, and she proved everyone wrong 6 months later.

Excellent! I am willing to try for sure, I was just worried because she panics a bit and just wiggles a lot in water (which is good, she can move) so my concern was not to stress her too much by leaving her on her own (I mean I will be next to her just not holding her). As you can see on the pictures she can hold her head up, but it's not very high.

Keep the comments and input coming!

That poor girl, you are doing great in trying to get her back to health.

I don't know a huge amount, but my beardie has a tooth missing and my vet told me that they don't grow back.

Keep up the good work and let us know how she is doing

To address the problem in her mouth.. It looks a lot like mouth rot..But you'll need a vet to verify that.

That poor thing.. If she looks like that after you took her in and cared for her.. I'm scare to imagine what she looked like before hand.

It brings tears to my eyes to think someone would do that to her..

As I told my manger today at work

"Some people just should not own animals"

Good luck with her, and please please keep us posted on her, Ive been watching this thread since it was posted but wanted to see photos before I posted anything..

Just want to add my thanks to you for saving this poor dragon. The way some people treat animals like so much disposable trash is horrible. Hang in there. You are an amazing person.

I am in agreeance (lol agreeance is not known by Firefox's spellchecker) with everyone's passion here but, I think it is more important to get an update on her today.
As well as I have a question... When a female bearded dragon is in a horrible state such as hers, will she still go gravid and produce eggs? or will her body not do that in this sort of time?

Hopefully I got that under control with her. I will do the water rehabilitation and I will start next week and get a specific tub for her (if I can find one) or just use a towel under her to help her support herself.

Most of those people shouldn't even have kids. Well her mouth situation got better (it was worse, everything was worse...) and the vet didn't mention it. I will call her up in two or three days for an appointment. I work very weird hours and I'm not on the same schedule than normal people.

I didn't want to post pics because it's sad... I didn't want to "show her off" in that state, I wouldn't like people posting photos of me like that.

I actually think they take better care of their trash (just throw it out and get it over with) but they prolong the suffering... And they're legally aloud to own/have kids!!! I would have taken the kids, but that = 25 years in prison here so it was a no-go. I wonder if I would have offered her 15$ she would let me have the children, still not legal though. I prefer lizards anyway.

Producing eggs? They produce eggs without the help of a male? I will never try to breed her and if she gets super healthy I might try to re-home her although I would prefer to have her around and keep rehabilitating her. I'm not losing hope and won't quit. And again, the support here is incredible and it really makes a difference.

I have been lurking on this thread.. and I am so sad by how bad the poor baby looks. You can definately tell she has MBD. What kind of calcium does the vet have her on? I know Drache's store sells liquid Calci-blast for dragons with MBD.. Here is the link:

I'm sure your vet has her on liquid calcium, but just thought I would put that out there....

So glad you are taking such good care of her.~

Her poor, poor face tells such a sad story! Looking at the photos is heartbreaking. She's so very lucky to have you! I wonder if you could make her some kind of a float that would let her arms and legs hang over so she could use them if she wanted to, so she could get some exercise. Maybe like a piece of foam cut almost as wide as her that would fit between her arms and legs so she could paddle? You of course would have to supervise while she's swiming with it, bit it might help. Also, what about clipping her nails? They appear to be so long that they curve under. It might be easier for her to walk if they were shorter. You have done such a wonderful thing for this poor creature. Bless you.

Hi

yes they can produce eggs even without being with a male, obviously they would be infertile.

I don't know if her body would let that happen though.

I'm not sure, but it's liquid calcium? I know the dragon got better after it, not sure how much was because of the calcium but it seems to work. I'll need to check. I thought they only had "one type" of liquid calcium at different dosages?

That's a pretty good idea, I'll try with the towel and if that doesn't work well I'll use foam. She FREAKS in water, I'm a bit scared to stress her too much. When I bathe her, she kicks and wiggles like hell. I'm not too sure how normal that is. The water temp. feels warm on my hands, not sure for her, but I know it's not too cold and it's not too hot, so I'm not sure about in what temp. I should bathe her, any pointers?

I figured that they wouldn't hatch haha. What do the eggs look like? I haven't seen anything remotely similar to eggs. Okay I just googled, I didn't see anything resembling eggs ever.

(PS. Newly hatched Bearded Dragons are so adorable! I can't believe mine was ever that size. It's so heartbreaking seeing them like that then her in the bad state she is, it's so not fair to her...)

lol, mine just laid a clutch of supposedly fertile eggs. None of them were good as she has been quite poorly. Anyway, they are about the size of a chocolate cadbury mini egg, maybe slightly bigger. The bad eggs were brownish in colour and very soft, squishy and dented. The 'good' eggs are more formed and white.

Yeah,i look at my guys and can't believe that they were ever that tiny. I didn't get mine until they were 1 1/2 yrs old, so missed that stage

keep up the good work

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
