Rescue getting better but i have some questions

8 weeks ago i took in a 4 year old beardie I had found with a family who knew nothing about her and was trying to get rid of her. She is amazing. She has just gotten over a very bad case of cockcida. She is 16inches long and since i got her has gained 75g. She went from 215-305g. Even though she has gained lots you can still see her ribs and she still looks skinny. How much more should she gain to be at a healthy weight? Also she eats just as many bugs as my 8 month old. Should i let her keep eating like that or switch her? She eats greens but would rather have the bugs. Any sujestions?

Well, sounds like your'e doing a great job She's getting where she needs to be already, another 25 grams would be fine. You can slow down on the bugs a little and keep the greens in the forefront of her diet. Ones like turnip, mustard, collard, dandelion, cilantro, squash are all excellent staples. You want her acceleration of weight gain to pretty much slow down and then come on very slowly up to 325 - 350. Sounds like she's doing well.

The only type of good green my safeway sells is kale. So thats what my loves eat. I have tried squash before with my 8 month old and he loved it so much he pooped orange for a week. Also i am still worried about her because all her ribs still show. Will that go away? What can i do to help that. Gettin her to eat greens is kinda hard because in till 8 weeks ago she had never seen greens

Actually, kale isn't a good green. It binds calcium, which could cause other health issues. You can't find any of the suggested greens on the Beautiful Dragons site at all? She will definitely continue to gain weight, though, and her ribs should become less apparent in time. Remember, reptiles have slow metabolisms, so it can take a while for them to regain their health.

We have have nothing else i have looked. I will be moving to a city in august with my babies so then we can have collard greens but we only have kale and lettuce. Small town with little selection. I can't wait till she is all healthy again. She was so small and lonely when i got her. She has a flat spot on her nose from rubbing against the glass to get out. She did it lots when i first got her and now she's much calmer that she gets attention and stuff. She is very hyper but very sweet.
